How to add chemicals

Adding chemicals is safe and simple once you know the rhythm. The same five steps work for almost everything you'll ever add.

  1. 1

    Read the exact dose

The app gives you a precise amount for the chemicals you actually own — no guessing, no scoops-and-hope.

  2. 2

    Gear up

Gloves and eye protection on, working in open air. A minute of prep keeps the whole job comfortable and safe.

  3. 3

    Pour or pre-dissolve

Liquids pour straight in slowly; granules dissolve in a bucket of warm water first so they never settle on the floor.

  4. 4

    Add with the pump on

Walk it around the pool with the water circulating, so it blends evenly instead of pooling in one spot.

  5. 5

    Wait, then retest

Let it circulate and do its work. The app tells you when to test again before you add anything else.

Different products are added in slightly different ways — some pour straight in, some dissolve in a bucket first. Want the detail on each one? See what each chemical does and how it's added, then read the after-care steps for what to do once it's in.
